LFA Behind The Scenes - Meet Jasmin
MEET JASMIN - PR MANAGER
Say hi to our newest team member, Jasmin! Read on to find out more about our brilliant PR Assistant, including her favourite London spot and ever-growing podcast addiction..
What’s your feel-good song (s)?
Oh I definitely have a few! Aretha Franklin's Chain of Fools, Beyonce’s Partition and Destiny’s Child’s Survivor are all songs guaranteed to get me up and dancing and back in a great mood. The Hamilton soundtrack is also something i listen too quite a bit after seeing it last October I’ve been obsessed and I’m pretty sure I could be a stand-in for most characters if necessary.
Ask your best friend to describe you in 3 words:
Loud, loyal and strange were the first 3 that got sent to me on our WhatsApp chat so I guess that summarises her view of me and our friendship pretty well!
You can only watch one film for the rest of your life. What is it?
Practical Magic. Its an oldie but a goodie! Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, witches, a zombie, drug dealer, ex-boyfriend..it just has everything I need to keep me entertained forever. Fun fact; I had a broken tv when I was at uni and this was one of the few DVDs that it would still play so I have probably already watched it about 300 times!
What’s the best discovery you’ve ever made?
Podcasts! I was definitely late to game with podcasts but now I have a few that I listen to all the time and I can’t imagine trying to do my commute without them! I’m a big true crime fan so My Favourite Murder is an essential weekly listen to me. Jonathan Van Ness, from Netflix’s Queer Eye, also has a really interesting podcast called Getting Curious that has different experts come in every week to talk about different topics like climate change, drug addiction and how Kim Kardashian broke the internet. Any advice podcasts are also great to me as I love hearing about other people’s dramas!
Something you want to achieve in the next year?
I really enjoy travelling and exploring new places so I’ve promised myself that I am going to visit at least 4 news cities/places this year and at least 1 of those needs to be in the UK as I’ve only seen a handful of places. I already have Leeds and Hungary booked for next month so just a couple more to book for the rest of the year to get to my target, though really as many holidays as I can fit in is ideal!
Any hidden talents?
I’m not sure if its a ‘talent’ but I do have an ability to kill all house plants! So many plants have come into my home just to die and wither away, no matter how much I google how to look after them they just never seem to make longer than a month or two. So my house is just full of fake plants and cacti because even I can’t kill them!
Favourite spot in London and why?
I’m a sucker for the Southbank as basic as that sounds, its amazing all year round. In the summer its full of people and there are different pop ups all along the river so I love going down with friends and having a few drinks in the sunshine and people watching. But I also love walking along in the winter wrapped up in a big coat with a hot coffee and just taking in the city.
Dogs or cats?
Dogs all the way! Although I will accept cat cuddles, though generally only when the dog has gone out for a walk!
What would you tell your 15-year-old self?
Oh 15-year-old me made some very questionable choices but number one would have to be to stop cutting that fringe! The full fringe look is just not for you, please accept it and move on!
What are you having for dinner tonight?
I’m having a girls night in today and we’re going to cook some Mexican food so probably chicken tacos with lots of guacamole. I love some spicy food but I am the only one so I’ll also be eating mine with a lot of extra jalapeños.
